Altered DNA methylation in estrogen-responsive repetitive sequences of spermatozoa of infertile men with shortened anogenital distance

By July 27, 2023May 16th, 2024No Comments

Over the past 50 years, human semen quality has been declining, while genitourinary abnormalities (e.g. testicular cancer) have been occurring more frequently. To better understand how exposure to endocrine disruptors in early embryonic development affects the fertility of men, the researchers studied DNA methylation in spermatozoa from fertile and infertile men.

BISC supported this research by developing the pipeline for the analysis of RRBS data (fastq files) in a high-performance computing cluster.
