The GOSTAR SAR database has always been the gold standard for medicinal chemists and drug discovery teams looking to extract high-quality structure-activity relationship (SAR) data. However, speed and efficiency in retrieving relevant information from a large database such as GOSTAR—with coverage of 11 million chemical structures and 35 million SAR data points from over 500,000 references—are just as crucial as data accuracy. Recognizing this, we have made major UI performance improvements over the last few months, significantly enhancing query response times and database efficiency.
Enhanced Search Performance
Our latest update (H2 2024) has significantly improved search speed, making queries much faster across different categories. Here’s how things have improved compared to H2 2023:

Structure-based searches, for e.g., Acid dissociation constant (pKa) in the -3 to 3 range

Target-based searches for EGFR and oligonucleotides

Searches across patents and scientific literature from 2022–2023

Queries related to a compound’s clinical status and pharmacokinetics parameters
These upgrades help users access critical data faster, improving productivity and decision-making. GOSTAR is now more responsive, efficient, and user-friendly, and we’re committed to continuous improvements to support drug discovery scientists worldwide.
